Audoin's Gull

Birds than have been seen include aquatic birds such as the snowy plover (Charadrius alexandrinus), flamingos (Phoenicopterus ruber), the common shelduck (Tadorna tadorna), and the black-winged stilt (Himantopus himantopus). Sighted marine birds include the Balearic Shearwater (Puffinus mauretanicus), and Audouin’s Gull (Larus audouinii). One of the salt water lagoons (Estany Pudent) has the largest concentrations of black-necked grebes (Podiceps nigricollis) in Europe. So this is rich Formentera bird watching territory indeed!
